Utilities, insurance, registration, mailbox — the practical setup that turns a completed sale into a working home.

The acte authentique hands you keys. It does not hand you electricity, internet, insurance, a working mailbox, or the taxe foncière invoice routed correctly. Those arrive in French, on French timelines, on French paperwork.

After Purchase Setup is the engagement where Yes House coordinates the months that follow completion — practical, unsexy, time-consuming, and best handled by someone on the ground.

What we coordinate

  • Utilities setup — electricity (EDF / alternative supplier), gas, water (Veolia, Suez, or local régie), internet, waste collection
  • Insurance — multi-risk habitation policy quoting and bind, optional propriétaire non-occupant (PNO) cover, post-binding policy storage
  • Mailbox and forwarding — physical mailbox setup at the property, mail-redirect service to your overseas address where useful
  • Local registration — if relevant, taxe d’habitation declaration of occupation, secondary-residence registration with the mairie
  • Tax coordination — we route taxe foncière, taxe d’habitation, and prélèvements sociaux notices to your fiscalist or accountant; we do not advise on tax ourselves
  • Post-notaire handover — collection of titre de propriété, registration confirmations, and any post-completion documents the notaire sends after the act
  • Bank account coordination — practical setup of a French compte courant where one is needed, working with the notaire’s introductions or a local conseiller bancaire

  • Not tax, legal, or fiscal advice
  • Not regulated property management under Loi Hoguet
  • Not insurance broking
  • Not a substitute for your fiscalist or avocat

We coordinate the introductions and handle the back-and-forth. Decisions on coverage, structure, and tax treatment stay with you and your licensed professionals.

How it works

After Purchase Setup is typically a 3- to 6-month engagement, scoped per property after a short call. Pricing depends on the region and complexity. The output is a working home with documented contracts, on-file insurance, and a clean handover binder.
